We can’t really complain about Facebook reducing the organic reach of our business pages. Facebook is running a business so obviously; those who pay will get preferential treatment. We know Facebook plays a very vital role in the success of many businesses. What is there for us as a business or marketer is to rip benefits of this platform for us or our clients.

If you just look at the number of Facebook page reach, surely you are going to feel depressed about it. But Facebook hasn’t killed the reach of businesses on Facebook, really. There are ways to get good organic reach for your business on the Facebook. Before I mention the ways to get good organic reach, remember content is the King. Without good content on your page, no matter what you do or what best practices you follow, you won’t get good organic reach.

We realized that Facebook has reduced organic reach from the numbers we get from Facebook page insight.  Kind of organic reach we used to get in past remains dream now but not for us. Target Audience

The relevant audience on your page is a key to success. Every expert says this, " Content is the king & Engagement is the queen" Content is in your hand but for engagement, you really need to have your target audience on your page. Remember, having 50 engaged users are far better than having 5000 ideal users.

  • Build up your audience gradually. Make sure that audience you are reaching is your target audience. It helps in building relevant engagement. They will react or respond to every post of yours. Better engagement will result in good organic reach.
  • Make sure you invite those users who have liked or reacted to your post to like your page. This has to be a regular practice. It is easy to make people like your page who have engaged with your page earlier. Make sure you do that as soon as they engage.
  • Always invite your friends who have some sort of interest in your business or niche to like your page. When people in your friend list like your page, naturally you will get the better reach.

Content

  • Always pay attention to headlines of your post. Headlines are meant to grab the attention of your audience. You pay good attention to that.
  • Post video content. Videos are more engaging than images or simple text posts. Try and post original videos. Try and create videos by yourself. High-quality videos will get you organic reach you always dream of for your page.
  • Have a variety of posts on your page. Posts images, videos, links and text posts. Remember not every audience of yours is in the mood for image only or video only posts.
  • Post regularly. Try and post at least once a day if not possible twice. Twice is better. You can actually skip a day if you don’t have relevant content to share instead of posting irrelevant stuff for sake of regular posting. Always try and post relevant content to your business or niche. Remember, You have your audience on your page for content you publish.
  • Even today, people trust a newspaper more than social media or blogs. That is a bitter truth. No matter how much cobra post exposes paid news in newspapers, people still rely on newspapers for news. Articles or information published in newspapers gets better engagement rate. Try and publish soft copies of relevant news articles from newspapers to your page with your take on it. If the article in a newspaper is about your business then nothing is better than that.   • Highlight achievements of your organization or personals employed. Congratulate yourself or your employees on your page. Believe me, when someone achieves something worth praise, your audience won’t hold themselves back from engaging with your post or comments or reactions. You will be giving a reason for them to engage.
  • Share posts from other businesses that are relevant to your audience. Give due credit. It won’t harm your reputation. It will keep your audience engaged.
  • Use emoticons only when it increases the relevancy of your post to your audience.
  • Use relevant #s. Irrelevant HashTags will negatively impact the engagement rate.
  • Try and keep your audience posted with everyday happenings in your organization. Fresh content draws better engagement.
  • Use poll option on your page as and when possible. As I mentioned in one of the points above, people love to respond when they are asked questions or opinions.
  • If your audience is from the small town, use the local language in your post. It will connect more people than with the post in English.

Engagement

  • There has to be a clear and loud call to action mention in your post. Most preferably, it should be the first line in your description but below the headline of your post. For example, “Please share the post if you like it.” You can also mention it at end of the description. Your audience should realize instantly what action they are expected to take. It might look negligible to you but believe me, it really matters.
  • To keep your audience engaged, you really need to engage them. Ask them questions. When you ask a question, naturally they will want to respond or react.
  • When someone likes your page. Thank them in messenger. It is personal and a feel-good gesture for the user. People like to be thanked.
  • Respond to your audience every time, they comment on your post. Respond to their queries or messages as quick as possible. Response rate does matter.
  • When responding to comments by your audience, mention them. People like it when they are mentioned on pages. Mentioning them will do another good, it won’t go unnoticed.
  • Tag relevant people in your posts. Tagging too many people unnecessarily is as good as spamming. Always mention feeling activities. It should be in line with the mood of your post. Many people use it the wrong way. Even if the post is relevant and engaging, the user won’t engage if feeling activity and mood of the post are irrelevant to each other. You can understand, Facebook provides these features for a reason.
